Relief from the heat

18 months ago Carolyn was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. It has been a struggle getting used to the varying aspects of this debilitating disease.  We are living on Social Security so it can be difficult month to month. Our credit cards are maxed out and we literally have to choose between groceries and buying gas to get to her Doctor appointments. Neither Carolyn or I have ever asked anyone for help in our 70 + years. We have always taken pride in being independent. But this morning,  a serious hurdle has gotten in our path. This morning (August 28) the air conditioning in our modest mobile home went out on us. The last two weeks our area has seen repeated 99 degree temperatures, and today is no different. The forecast is for 96. Why are we asking for $10,000?  Obviously first funding will go to fix the air conditioning. But we would really like to put a skirt on our mobile home, as it will help the heating and cooling be more efficient. Also we would like to put a roof on our porch so we can gain better use of it. And lastly, we have a goal of paying down as much of our credit card debt as we can to give us some breathing room in our budget. I know there are hundreds, if not thousands of senior citizens just like us who struggle along on Social Security.  All we can do is ask you to pray about it and if the Lord prompts you to help to take action. We have less than $90 in our bank account so there is no hope of getting the air conditioning running without help. Please give thoughtful consideration to our plea. May God richly bless you as you give this consideration.
