Fighting Colon Cancer

Donation protected
In September of 2018 I was diagnosed with Colorectal cancer. I have had part of my colon removed and now have what I hope is a reversible ileostomy.  As a result, Intook short term disability so I could heal. However the cancer was more aggressive than at first thought which made it Stage 3. Cancer cells were found outide my colon.

In November I started Chemotherapy. Chemo is never easy. For me it has been particularly rough. I have developed several side effects from the Folfox Chemo that have greatly pacted my life. The neuropathy is constant and painful. I can not get cold or I am in agony. If I use my hands to type or wash dishes or anything for more than a few minutes they become raw and painful and will occassional spasm and freeze in position.

There’s more, but the crux if the matter, the reason  why I had to start this is I’m out of paid leave. The company I work  for has placed me on unpaid leave. My paycheck paid most of the bills while my wife’s income kept us fed. Without even half of my income, we are now unable to pay the mortgage, phone bill, copays, the daughter’s activities, prescriptions needed. Cancer is not cheap.
