Help YEAH Teens Get A Permanent Home

So here’s the deal! Check out our super short video . Youth Empowerment for Advancement Hangout (YEAH) is a community based 501(c)3 organization utilizing teen action to reduce youth violence in West and Southwest Philly neighborhoods. We work with teens ages 13 to 19 (up to 21 really) in the evenings and weekends to address immediate & long term needs while focusing on safety and empowerment. We are teen led and provide a variety of services including case management, advocacy, entrepreneurship, and community and civic engagement. Since inception, YEAH has been operating out of city owned spaces such as recreation centers and we have outgrown all of them. Yup, our program has gotten way too big to be accommodated by offered community space & we are trying to make our own spot happen as soon as possible!

Since our start in 2019, YEAH has engaged over 250 teenagers providing a restorative justice approach to engagement, jobs, intensive support & overall teen well-being. We are a one of a kind organization implementing culturally relevant programming while addressing the root causes of social issues to help teens achieve the lives they want and deserve. This building will be a community space focusing on giving Black teenagers a place they can come to and get what they need regardless of what's going on in their lives. 

YEAH Founders (James Aye & Kendra Van de Water) have put personal financial resources together to purchase a permanent building space for YEAH to operate. We are launching this fundraiser to help obtain funds to go towards buying and renovating a permanent space of our own.

Here’s the specs: (Also watch our quick video ) (This fundraiser has been updated to reflect the fact that we have found a property and are in the process of buying it).

1. As of September, we are currently under contract for a property  in West Philly & scheduled to close end of October!

2. The property is listed at $200,000 and we are putting $70,000 down.

3. The property is in good condition, but will still need renovations. 

4. Every dollar raised is going to this property because this space is crucial to our organization.
