Yeabsira Tigistu's Funeral Fund

It is with profound sadness we announce the death of Yeabsira Tigistu. Yeabsira was a twenty-five year old, dynamic and outstanding young man. He was the oldest son to Tigistu Gebre and Elsabet Beyene and the beloved big brother of Samuel Tigistu. Yeabsira was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia but came to the United States as a young child. An incredibly gifted and intelligent young man, Yeabsira excelled graduating top of his class at Pioneer High School, then graduating early from the prestigious Columbia University. Yeabsira’s kindness was encompassing and his laugh infectious. He was a go getter, and he had a genuine spirit about him that was truly one of a kind. Yeabsira was a role-model and a man of integrity-a devout Christian who honored his parents, brother, family and community. Yeabsira was the dream son of every parent. Beyond high school and college, Yeabsira was a rising star in the corporate world. He was an economist by training, but everyone who has met Yeabsira will testify that he is an expert in pretty much every subject. An avid reader, he had an encyclopedic mind. 


We are all in shock at the sudden death of this beloved son and friend. Yeabsira lived and worked in New York. Yeabsira’s untimely passing has left the Tigistu family with a heavy financial burden. His family wishes his remains to be transported to his hometown of San Jose to be properly buried. We are asking for your generous donations to enable this. We are also asking for your fervent prayers. We are inconsolable but believe that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter will be with his family and friends. 

I am Yeabsira’s cousin and the funds are being deposited in the account of his mother. The funds will be used to defray the cost of transporting his remains and helping with funeral and related expenses.

During this time of grievance, we cling on to this, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10”


እጅግ በጣም የምንወደውና እንደ አይናችን ብሌን የምንሳሳለት ልጃችን፤ ወንድማችንና ጓደኛችን የአብስራ (ያቢ) ትእግስቱ በድንገት ከዚህ አለም በሞት መለየቱን የምንገልጸው እጅግ ጥልቅ በሆነ የሃዘን ስሜት ነው።

የአብስራ ከእናቱ ክወ/ሮ ኤልሳቤጥ በየነና ከአባቱ ከአቶ ትእግስቱ ገብሬ እ.ኤ.አ ዲሴምበር 27/1994 በአዲስ አበባ ከተማ ተወለደ። ያቢ ቤተሰቦቹ ወደ አሜሪካ የመምጣት እድል ሲያጋጥማቸው በካሊፎርንያ ስቴት በሳን ሆዜ ከተማ የመጣው በጨቅላ እድሜው ሲሆን የአንደኛና የሁለተኛ ደረጃ ትምህርቱን በዚሁ በሳን ሆዜ ከተማ በመከታተል በ2012 የ12ኛ ክፍል ትምህርቱን በከፍተኛ ውጤት አጠናቋል። በውጤቱ መሰረትም ብርካታ ታዋቂ ዩኒቨርስቲዎች ተቀብለውት የነበረ ቢሆንም የእሱ ምርጫ በኒውዮርክ ግዛት የሚገኘው የኮሎምቢያ ዩኒቨርስቲ በመሆኑ በዚህ ዩኒቨርሲቲ በመግባት ለአራት አመት ትምህርቱን ተከታትሎ በ2016 የመጀመርያ ዲግሪውን በኢኮኖሚክስ ተቀብሏል። ከዚያም በኒውዮርክ ከተማ ውስጥ በተለያዩ ካምፓኒዎች ውስጥ በሃላፊነት ያገለገለ ሲሆን፤ በቅርቡም በሚሰራበት ኮርፖሬሽን ውስጥ ለላቀ ሃላፊነት ታጭቶ በሂደት ላይ እንደነበር ለመረዳት ችለናል።

ያቢ ከትንሹ ጋር ትንሽ ከትልቁ ጋር ትልቅ በመሆን በማንኛውም አርስት ላይ ለመነጋገርና ለመክራከር ልዩ ብቃት የነበረው፤ የቋንቋ ችሎታውና ፍጥነቱ አስደናቂ ከመሆኑም በላይ ከሰለጠነበት ሙያ ውጪም ያለው ግንዛቤና እውቀት ለብዙዎች አስገራሚ ነበር።

ያቢ በቤተሰቦቹና ጓደኞቹ እጅግ ተወዳጅ የነበረና እሱም ለማህበረሰቡ በአጠቃላይ ልዩ ከብርና ፍቅር የነበረው ሲሆን፤ እሱ ባለበት ቦታ ሁሉ ሳቅና ጨዋታን መፍጠር የሚችል የቤተሰቡ ፈርጥና መሪ ነበር።

የአብስራ በድንገት ያረፈው በኒውዮርክ ከተማ ሲሆን አስክሬኑን ለማጓጓዝና የቀብር ስነስርአቱንም በሳን ሆዜ ለማስፈጸም ቤተሰቡ የገንዘብ ርዳታ ስለሚያስፈልገው የተቻለዎትን እንዲረዱ በትህትና እየጠየቅን ለሚያደርጉልን እርዳታ በቅድሚያ በልኡል እግዚአብሄር ስም ምስጋችንን እናቀርባለን።

በዚህ መራራ የሀዘን ጊዜ ለመላው ቤተሰብ መጽናናትን ይሰጥልን ዘንድ ኢሳያስ 41:10ን እናስታውሳለን።  “እኔ ከእናንተ ጋር ነኝና አትፍራ፤ እኔ አምላክህ ነኛና አትደንግጥ፤አበረታሀለሁ፤ እረዳህማለሁ፤ በጽድቄም ቀኝ ደግፌ እይዝሃለሁ”
