Countless Shoes for Kids

Walking  2 to 3 miles every day would be hard on any one, but these kids have to do it without shoes!
       I know, because that was Me! Every day, I walked to this very school through the mud and filthy waters when it rained, stepping on thorns through the jungle, and struggling painfully to walk on the scorching, stone surface on the blazing hot African days. Many times my little feet were bloody and I got infections but most of all, I remember how painful it was. 
       So when the kids head mistress reached out to me, I looked at the all the scars I still have on my feet and I knew I had to do something.
       I reached out to Bata, a company that makes leather school shoes and the Ugandan branch offered to help. They agreed to a 15% discount and to go out to the schools to size each child for a proper fit. For $35, a child with receive a pair of genuine leather rubber sole shoes, a pair of socks, shoe shine and a brush.
       Apart from the sheer joy of owning their first and only pair of shoes, your kindness will save these kids from the many healthy issues that result in walking on unclean surfaces without shoes!
