Demetrio Orozco

On Monday, March 23rd, at approximately 7:00pm, Demetrio suffered from a painful headache that caused him to lose consciousness and collapse. His parents quickly sought medical help and was then transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. There it was quickly determined that he had suffered from an aneurysm and was immediately  sent to  surgery to stop the hemorrhaging.  He was induced into a medical coma.  Soon after, he was transported via helicopter to Loma Linda Children's Hospital where he is currently being monitored and awaiting for him to resume consciousness. 

The medical staff are informing his parents that the effects of this are unknown, but it is possible that he may have lost sight, feeling or movement. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit and is connected with a plethora of monitors and other medical equipment that are helping him regain consciousness. 

We are praying and hoping that Demetrio wakes up soon and recovers, but it will be a long road ahead.  His mother has been by his side, while Dad awaits. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, they are unable to be together with him. There are two younger children at home. 

Demetrio is in 6th grade and  loves, science, robotics and is an overall amazing student within the Palm Springs USD. 

Please send your positive thoughts and prayers for Demetrio. Your generosity will help this family who is in dire need  with the travel expenses to and from Loma Linda as well as, additional medical expenses that arise due to this situation.
