Maya's Medical Fund

Maya first came into our lives as a rescue from the Detroit Humane Society.  We took her to obediance training and while there learned about what a therapy dog was.   We had Maya evaluated at 14 months and She passed with flying colors.  For over 6 years (almost 4000 hours) Maya has given herself to making others feel better.  Up to a few months ago She enjoyed an active and strong life.  We noticed over the past few weeks that her eating habits were changing and she was not quite herself.  On Saturday October 7th we took her to the Vet.  She was diagnosed with Cancer and given a week to live.  Today we visited the hospital she worked at in Livonia.  We got to say goodbye to the friends we made over the years.  This evening  Maya gave up the fight and passed on.  She was truly loved by all.  With the money we hope to raise we have medical bills that need to be paid and if we exceed what we need the rest of the money will go to support The Michigan Humane Society and the Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
