Help Little Olive

A few weeks ago, my brother Ryan and his girlfriend Danielle adopted their first puppy, Olive, immediately showering her with affection and welcoming her into a loving home.  Unfortunately, she has been suffering from severe medical problems since the day after she was brought home. The person they got her from did not disclose any history of medical issues and is uncooperative. Ryan and Danielle are heartbroken and have already spent over $12,000 out of pocket in vet bills (pet insurance won't cover it) and there are more to come. As you can imagine it has caused them immense stress. Olive is currently very weak, and is being held at the vet overnight to keep her stable while they administer tests to see what's wrong. Anyone who has owned a pet knows how devastating it is to watch them suffer. If you can find it in your hearts to donate, please do so, so Ryan and Danielle can continue to provide Olive the care she needs.  Neither of them want to ask for money so I made this page on their behalf. Ryan said he will provide copies of vet bills and receipts if anyone wants to see them. Thanks so much!

Message taken from Ryan's Facebook 2/17: As some of you may know, Danielle and I adopted a puppy named Olive about a month ago. She has given us so much joy and happiness, however, our time with Olive has not been without its hardships. The day after we got her, she vomited and had blood in her stool. We immediately took her to the vet, and she tested positive for Giardia. We treated her with the necessary medications, and she appeared to recover from it. But this past week or so she began to exhibit other symptoms of something we feared was much worse. She was lethargic, constipated, not eating, and generally depressed. We took her to a new vet clinic, and they performed some tests for Addison’s Disease and Liver Shunt, the 2 issues our doctor suspected. Today the test results came back negative for both, so we’re just waiting to hear back from our vet on where to go from here. Olive is only 12 weeks old, severely underweight, with very little body fat. This has been a trying time for Danielle and I to say the least, with thousands of dollars spent on medical bills, and a serious toll on our emotional and mental health.
