I am raising money to pay my fees.
I just got admitted into the University of Sydney, Australia to study a Master of Nursing.
I have always dreamt of being a nurse because I love the nursing profession and it's closeness to people. I cannot work full time to pay my fees and study at the same time and my family cannot afford my fees. I was studying a Master of Business Administration but found a better opportunity of a lifetime to become a nurse without a previous nursing background and a course that will put me in a better position for the future.
My course fee for the two years duration is $79,000 (AUD) I have raised $14,500 and I still have a long way to go.
I am supposed to pay $19,750 per semester and I have only raised the above mentioned $14,500 my semester starts on the 28th of February 2020.
I'm a mother of three (aged, 14, 6&4)and conditions back home have not been favourable for me and my husband.
My husband and children are in Nigeria and we made this sacrifice in search of a better life and an escape from joblessness and poverty. We invested everything we had to make my travelling to study abroad possible.
I have been separated from my family for a year and seven months (since May 2018). If I don't raise money for my fees I stand the chance of going back to my country Nigeria with nothing to fall back to. Earning this degree is important because not only will it be a dream come true but it will change the financial situation in my life and that of my family. Everyone has sacrificed including my 4-year-old son who had only turned 3 the February before I left for Australia. I have not been able to visit my family because we can simply not afford it. Every amount goes to paying my fees and their upkeep.
I'm asking the kind and giving community to please come to my aid. No amount is too small and every cent given will be greatly appreciated. I have had months of thinking this through before coming forward to the public to ask for help. I have written to several individuals with no luck. I have sourced for scholarships with no luck. I'm at the verge of losing everything and going back home to start hunting for jobs with no added advantage, with no money alongside many other perhaps even better-qualified individuals than myself in an already distraught economy. Please help!
