After Huricane Maria hit the Island of Puerto Rico, all 78 municipalities woke up the next day to a country destroyed. The whole island has been without power since September 20, 2017, all communications are none existant in most parts of the island, roads are blocked by down trees and power lines, and many areas were flooded and some continue to be under water today.
While only 16 deaths were reported, the fact that the entire island is lacking electricity food, drinking water and many goods are scarse. This is why I have taken the lead on mailing goods to my hometown Yauco with the intent of supporting those in need and provide another venue in support of the town to acquire goods and perhaps prevent hunger, illnesses and discomfort.
My intent is to travel to Yauco, Puerto Rico on 18 October 2017 for two weeks in order to distribute all the goods already received by mail. Perhaps do it again in the near future or as many times it is needed until my hometown can achieve its new normal and no one is in dear need of subsistance goods.
I ask that you help me with this endeavour and assist me monetarily to pay for the cost of shipping these goods and for handling envelops of $50 to those in need so they can buy the goods they need in an environment were cash is hard to get.
You can rest assure that your money will be utilized for this purpose and this purpose only. As a Retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army , I have proven to be an ethical and responsible individual in everything I do. My family and I, as well as the town of Yauco, Puerto will be forever grateful for your support!!! God Bless You and Your Families Forever!
