Mike has a rare form of cancer of the thymus gland. He has had chemo and radiation and is currently taking Opdivo treatments twice a month. These treatments cost $18,000 each!
Mike works, but is not provided health insurance and pays $500 a month. His insurance is through the Exchange which has been a nightmare since his insurance keeps changing as his doctors drop out.
He owes $17,000 so far in medical bills. The insurance company has told him they will no longer be providing him coverage at the end of 2017. He's afraid he will not be able to obtain insurance again due to his preexisting condition and by working, Medicaid is not available to him.
I have known Mike since we were teens. He's a hard worker and too proud to ask for help. This funding is my idea and anything you can do to help would be wonderful. The mental stress of fighting this disease, along with the monetary stress, has made my friend very tired.
