YaniMade in Oracle Arena Dec 1st!

Donation protected
Dear loyal friends and supporters of YaniMade,

UPDATE 11/23/18:  After a brutal couple weeks from the fires and receiving my final shirt samples from UPS 5 days late, things are relatively on track!  I've chosen the shirt cuts I like best from what we sampled, I've received all the fine art prints and COA's, fabric has been ordered, and Tuesday I placed my final shirt order in hopes to be on display for either December 10th against T-Wolves or 12th against the Raptors.  I've adjusted my goal from $5,400 to $6,000 to account for my trip to LA as stated in my previous update.  (Remember that GoFundMe takes 3%).  There are still a couple things to fix from the samples and it will require me inspecting each shirt before they are bagged to ensure there are no gaffes which could affect my debut.  The next couple weeks will be intense and fast.  I've extended the campaign to 12-10 due to delay and costs.  Any donations are greatly appreciated to get me there.  Thanks again to everyone's generosity and moral support, this is the biggest challenge of my life to date!

Love,
Yani

UPDATE 10/31/18:  I'm getting there! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who's shown such generosity and support!  Fine Art Prints, mat backing, clear bags and Certificates of Authenticity have been ordered!  GoFundMe takes 3%, so I'm looking to fundraise at least $162 over the $5400 total. I will have to make a trip to LA to oversee final shirt production in the next couple weeks, so the cost of that trip will add to expenses.  So if we can exceed the $5400 total by ~$600, that'd be ideal!  Donation ask cut off date will be 12/1/18.

A GOLDEN opportunity has occurred, and I need your support!!  YaniMade has been granted its professional retail debut in Oracle Arena for Warriors home games during the '18-'19 season!! I must raise $5,400 for production ASAP in order to get my initial quantity of product ready for my go-live date December 1st!!

I'll be selling my original 5 Warriors player artworks framed, along with archival, limited edition, numbered & signed Giclee fine art prints (edition size 100 each), and wearable prints (tees, long-sleeve tees and women's tanks, edition size 100 each per artwork) on mobile kiosks placed directly outside the JP Morgan Chase and BMW Club executive suites.  This is where the owners, executives, silicon valley folks, and player's families sit and have exclusive access to.   I will be there in person representing my work at the kiosk during games.  This first trial order is for 120 shirts and 60 archival numbered, signed Giclee prints:  My needs includes costs for hang tags, vinyl neck transfers (tee finishing), luxury fabric, manufacturing,  individual print bags, archival mat backing, certificates of authenticity, shipping, and time hand numbering the editions plus bagging.

For reference, the cost to produce one luxury sublimated tee after fabric, printing, cutting, sewing, finishing and shipping will be $25.  For prints, after archival backing, clear protective bags, shipping, certificates of authenticity/ registration in database, time hand signing/ packaging/ transporting, the cost each to produce a small archival 9"x12" Giclee is $20 and the large 18"x24" is $60.   I will be ordering 30 of each Giclee print size.  Any contribution is greatly appreciated, but this cost breakdown allows for a clearer understanding in how your support helps me.  If you wish to know more about YaniMade, the long form story is below, I believe it's worthy context for my ask.  You can also check out yanimade.com and my instagram at yanimade_art. Thank you again for your consideration and support!

YaniMade marked the beginning of my post-Corporate America career and return to being an artist.  In my childhood  backyard shed/converted art space,  I began "Curry In Your Kitchen," a chalk pastel drawing of Stephen Curry in May, 2015.  With the intuitive spark of it becoming a shirt, through research, persistence, and invaluable design help from close friend Todd Wagner, in September 2015, the permanent dye-sublimation print tee and tank were for sale in my Etsy store, to great fanfare.  The follow up was "Everybody Loves Draymond" six months later also to a great reception.  I began selling to "Crush On College" a local boutique in Rockridge, which helped with local exposure.  In January 2017, I released "KD-The Stars Align," my first color pencil drawing/print.  At this point, I began researching sports licensing rules, paying a consultant to figure out if I could take the apparel brand in a professional retail direction.  A couple weeks later, I gave Klay Thompson an Uber ride, an improbable occurrence that perhaps was an indication from the gods to continue to "walk this path".

In April 2017, out of the blue, I was invited to Warriors practice by Raymond Ridder and his wife Sanae, to meet and give my work to Steph, KD and Draymond.  A month later, the YaniMade project was featured during the playoffs on local ABC7 news.   After releasing "Made With Klay" and celebrating the Warriors 2nd title in June 2017 there was a regrouping after initially being denied by the Warriors to carry my shirts in the Team Store.  11 months, hustle jobs and finding a new manufacturer (not easy) transpired before finishing the 5th in the series, "Steph's Joy" in May of this year.  Steph Curry's mom Sonya wore the shirt during the Warriors championship parade in June,  my biggest thrill to date.

Through a strong fondness for the teams I grew up loving since childhood, and a macro vision for an apparel brand from my art, I've steered my concept of sports art as a career,  by learning to live more simply and with more clarity.  This has happened by employing awareness, faith, flexibility, intuition, and working consciously with pain and fear.  Barely surviving at times, while staying connected to "challenge" or "difficulty" represents the growth and strength of my grand pursuit.  Despite the often overwhelming currents, by choosing to continually trust my values and speed, invest in good relationships, and tend to my own  internal hygiene, I'm walking into this amazing opportunity with more confidence, yet raised stakes.

Over the last 2 months, I've done the intense leg work in researching printing methods and finding the best of the best printers and manufacturers at the best possible prices, ordering many trial prints and making necessary color adjustments to get the final product nailed down, and now it's about staying on schedule and affording the large orders.  Every amount helps.  If I am able to make any profit for this season, it will be quickly re-invested in printing the rest of the edition, in paying my trusty design partner Todd, and for technology tools and art supplies needed to create new work. Ultimately, the market will determine the value for my art, but if it's similar to the reception by the general public, it could be a foot in the door for developing and building YaniMade into a niche pro sports brand of art.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your interest and support!

Love,
Yani
