Yamassee Tribe Cultural Center Fundraiser

Mission Statement
The Yamassee Indian tribe and Nation seeks to continue the legacy and tradition of our ancestors by the creation of a cultural education center and museum for Native and non-Native people.
To once again welcome all whom like to learn, educate, experience the Yamassee Indian tribal people and our historical narratives, locations, and cultural practices. To bring about a spiritual awakening and connection from the eyes of the Native people.
The cultural center and museum will promote a better understanding of the current and past issues involving Indian Tribes during colonial times and specifically the Yamassee. To reconstruct history from the eyes and narrative of the first people; by providing a living village (living history), petting zoo, and communal location to hold ceremonies and other events making inclusive the diversity of other tribal people and communities within South Carolina.
Indulging guests to feel inclusive and hands-on to the Yamassee heritage by education and participation of language, creation of historical garments, and jewelry.
Recognizing the need for this first of its kind attraction in South Carolina for the purpose of re-education and awareness, which will dampen fears when Artifacts are recovered on traditional land within South Carolina
