8th Grade Service Learning Trip

At City Neighbors Hamilton, a K-8 school, we believe that project-based learning, arts integration, parental involvement and community outreach, empower our graduates with a deeper awareness of themselves, their families and the outside community.
As a culmination of the nine years of learning at CNH, every 8th grade student participates in a service learning project. The aim of this project is to expand the world view of our students by giving them an opportunity to engage with another culture, support our fellow citizens in meaningful ways through service and instill a desire to learn by researching and exploring.
This year the 8th-grade trip and coursework will be focused on supporting individuals that have immigrated to Miami, FL. Students will embody the City Neighbors Way by giving their time and talents towards helping families/communities rebuild and stabilize.
We need your help to make this trip happen. We need to raise $9,000 by April 20, 2020. The money we raise will go to support the following for our students: airfare, lodging, transportation, meals, activities, supplies, medical preparations
Every little dollar counts!
Snacks for one student per day - $5.00
Breakfast for one student per day - $10.00
Lunch for one student per day - $15.00
Ground transportation for one student per day- $17.00
Dinner for one student per day - $20.00
Lodging for one student per day - $35.00
1 round trip airline ticket per student - $270
The cost of one students’ total participation - $1200
Any extra money raised will go towards buying needed supplies and materials for the affected population.
Consider helping to fund part of one or more students’ efforts to bring relief and support to our fellow citizens.
We need all the help we can get – together we can do so much!
The returning students will be forever changed and be more compassionate citizens. They will make lasting friendships with the people they meet and forever remember the tangible impact they had in the recovery process.
