Yes it does say "surviving surviving cancer" because that is the challenge I am now facing . Let me explain.
In November of last year I went in for what is usually a fairly routine surgery for women of my age. Some of the tests I had leading up to the surgery had came back as "pre cancerous cells" and I had some other symptoms which ment I wasn't going to be able to have a routine robotic hysterectomy it would have to be done with full incision surgery. I worked a full day on November 19th and went in the next morning for my surgery . Never would i have imagined just how much my life would change on November 20th 2014 and what i would be facing over the next 8 months.
How can you be prepared to hear the words
"you have stage 4 grade 3 endometrial cancer".
the fight was ON! My surgery lasted over 4 and a half hours and i had been opened up from above my belly button to my pelvis in order for my amazing surgeon to literally scrap all of that crud out of me. Then on to 5 weeks of recovery then right in to aggressive chemo therapy then radiation therapy 5 days a week for 7 weeks.
REMISSION !!
I fought and I won! With the help of my amazing family , mostly my Mom, and friends. That's the servive part! At least the survive part one. Which brings me to why I'm here. Now I need to SERVIVE surviving stage 4 cancer. I have not worked since November 19th and have had no income since the last part of May when my short term disability ran out. I am still not able to return to work yet (but hope to as soon as I possibly can! ) and I have applied for many different types of assistance beyond that but I am still waiting for any of them to come through with anything. (I spoke with one of my case workers the day I set this account up and was told IF I was approved it would still be easily 3 to 4 weeks out at the very earliest before I could expect an kind of monetary help).
I'm at my wits end. The bills sure haven't been put on hold. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Please help if you can and share this if you would.
