I recently was diagnosed with Complex PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Hallucinations, Dissociation, Anxiety Tics, Insomnia and my Depression and Anxiety were confirmed for the third time. Before I was kicked out of my home last fall, I had my dog, Ella, who was not a certified ESA (emotional support animal) but that was her job for 8 years. I have not seen her in over a year and I will not get her back. I need your help with getting me an emotional support dog. I have seen three therapists so far and they all recommend I get another ESA due to the severity of my disabilities and how beneficial it was for me when I had my dog before. I am asking for help because I recently had to quit my job due to these disabilities and need some extra help with getting my dog. The money will go towards:
-Adopting my dog
-A training course for said dog
-Registration, including a vest and a card that says it's my ESA
I am hoping to get an emotional support dog by February or March 2021.
Some information from me about some of my disabilities (for better insight):
Anxiety tics - They cause me to jerk and vocalize randomly at any time. I have hit myself in the head, neck and face multiple times during these episodes and they are not fun. Often times, they hurt and are very embarrassing.
Dissociation - When I dissociate, I do not know who I am, where I am, how I got there, and I lose track of time (so much so that 2 1/2 hours went by during an episode and I was not aware of it). It can be very scary, especially when I am out in public. I have dissociated in public and in the safety of my home and both are unnerving.
Insomnia - I will only sleep for 2-4 hours a night most nights. Even when I am able to sleep through a night, I will wake up multiple times a night and I will be wide awake (and then it takes a long time to fall back asleep). I have very vivid and horrible nightmares each night which aggravates and increases my insomnia.
All of my disabilities can make it extremely hard to function most days and it can (and does) affect my school. I would appreciate any and all help that I get during this process.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your help!
Anything that is donated will be super valuable and very appreciated.
