Back in 2016 I decided I wanted to summit the worlds highest mountain. Probably one of the craziest things I’ve ever thought up! On my summit push at around 8400m I stopped to rescue a fellow climber (Sunita Hazra). I tried to rescue her climbing partner (Subash Paul). Sunita survived but sadly Subash never made it. On my return home the worlds media gave me a lot of recognition for my actions that night.
In 2017 I tried again from the North side and ended up being knocked back when 80mph winds tore our tent to shreds just under 8000m. I also had a hand in rescuing another climber from a neighbouring tent. The only way I can achieve my dream is with the generosity of family, friends and supporters.I already owe so much to so many people and for that I will always be very grateful.
many thanks much love. Les.
