Lisa is the sole person to access funds from this fundraiser.
Lisa is a Durham resident who has been through more than one person could handle in such a short amount of time. She has suffered several tragic events over the last several months. She could really use some help and hope for her future.
On May 21 2019, Lisa's fiancé Jay Foust was tragically murdered while on the job in downtown Durham. He was an unarmed security guard patrolling a new parking lot when he interrupted an attempted robbery and was shot multiple times. It was a senseless crime that changed Lisa's life forever. She is still trying to get closure for Jay while the investigation remains unsolved.
While trying to heal from losing the love of her life, her house caught on fire. She was at work when she received the call that her house was engulfed in flames. She did not have renters insurance at the home her and Jay shared. Thankfully, Jay's beloved dog Turbo was outside in the fence during the fire and was not harmed. Turbo is currently staying in the fence at the property while Lisa is displaced from the home. The owner has decided NOT to rebuild. She lost all her valuables and precious memories of her and Jay. She needs to find housing soon that will allow her to keep her dog.
Lisa is the most selfless, loving person. She works in home health care and spends her days taking care of everyone else.
She now needs help herself to get back on her feet and find safe affordable housing. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and put towards great use in hopes for a brighter future for Lisa and Turbo!
