DIna's Broken Leg
I learned the hard way how easy it is for all your plans to be turned upside down in less than a minute. I'm a textile artist in the process of starting my own business as an independent crafts person. Back in April I broke my leg while taking down my booth at a craft festival in Baltimore, 500 miles from home. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks, then recovering at the home of a kind and generous cousin for another 5 weeks. I'm back home now and almost ready to start walking again, my physical recovery is making slow progress. In the spring I was building momentum, having had a good sales at the festival where I fell, with 5 more shows scheduled over the course of the summer. I had to cancel those shows, so there has only been a little bit of income from some of my wholesale accounts and mostly I have been living on my savings, which are now on the point of running out. I need help covering my hospital bills and living expenses for the next couple months while I get back to being able to work. I have eight shows coming up this fall.
