An organization dedicated to peace and true global prosperity. We focus on our own backyard, standing firmly against Western imperialism and militarism. We're a local chapter of our broader organization the Canadian Peace Congress!

The Canadian Peace Congress is an organization of people that advocates and works for world peace and disarmament. We are a member of the World Peace Council, and support its work and world views in the struggle against imperialism and neo-colonialism. We strive for a world based on peaceful cooperation and international solidarity, siding with the just struggles of oppressed peoples for self determination.

We maintain that peace—not militarism and war—is the guarantor of democracy, human rights, social and economic justice. Peace, international friendship, and cooperation among peoples and nations are possible and necessary to improve living standards, eradicate unemployment and poverty, illiteracy and disease and to restore the health of the planet.

We recognize that, in the 21st Century, human progress has created all of the prerequisites for a peaceful world. War, the militarization of the economy, our membership in aggressive military blocs such as NATO, NORAD, and NORTHCOM, are all hostile and unnecessary endeavours. The Canadian Peace Congress holds the view that the renewed nuclear arms race and its extension to space, and Canada's continual participation in wars of intervention, occupation, and regime change only serve the interests of powerful financial and military elites, and not the people.
