Do you or does someone you know enjoy dancing or watching dance? To ensure that dance doesn't just survive the global pandemic, but rather, THRIVES now and in the future, we are launching the Carmel Dance Festival.
Committed to providing much-needed work for dancers, choreographers, arts administrators, stage technicians, and collaborators, we aim to promote joy, inspiration, inclusion, and human connection through kinetically invigorating dance.
The inaugural season will feature Chicago-based PARA.MAR Dance Theatre, the Windy City's newest and most extraordinary contemporary ballet company. This diverse troupe of exquisite dancers will perform West Coast premieres by Artistic Director Stephanie Martinez, Lucas Crandall, and Jennifer Archibald. In addition to 4 performances, the company will offer 2 masterclasses during their week-long residency from July 20-26, 2021.
We only have two months to raise the necessary funds! Any and all of your contributions are deeply appreciated by dancers who will have the opportunity to perform live, choreographers who will share their craft, students who will experience classes with the company, audience members who will be enlivened by this gorgeous program, and the Carmel Dance Festival team as we launch this exciting new arts organization.
Please join us on our journey and support this incredible dance experience come alive in its first season! This Go Fund Me campaign will cover the following costs:
Eleven roundtrip flights for the company to travel from Chicago to Monterey ($5,100)
Housing for the company in Carmel Valley during their week-long residency ($6,250)
Building the set for "kiss." choreographed by Stephanie Martinez ($4,450)
