My Dad's Cancer treatment

This is the story of my Dads fight with cancer, We have recently found out our father has rectal cancer, My family has put together and borrowed money to pay for his surgery but now he needs more treatment and our family needs help so we can afford his treatment, As a daughter living on the other side of the world from my parents in Philippines, I have my own family here in the UK and with covid-19 restrictions it is difficult and expensive to return home. All I can do is offer my dad help from afar.
Starting in March 2020 he started to become unwell But with lockdown and restrictions because of the Covid-19 Virus he did not get to see a doctor until the end of July by this time I had seen his condition decline in video calls over the months and he was becoming more ill.
The doctor sent him for a scan and he found out he has a large tumour in his bowel By this time it was very late for treatment and his bowel was almost completely blocked and was advised for emergency surgery to remove it.
With no other options and his health failing my family and I had to find and borrow money to afford for our dad’s surgery, it was hard to see my dad becoming so ill and so fast. Because of this late stage he had no time to receive pre-cancer treatments and has had much of his bowel removed that he now has a permanent Colostomy bag.
After his surgery the Doctor confirmed the tumour was cancerous and at stage 3. He was referred to receive combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy with the cancer now spreading this will be the only way for him to become better.
My dad is now Slowly recovering from surgery and even with the sudden change in his health and life he is thinking positively to fight this cancer but his treatment will be costly, This treatment is my dad’s only lifeline and even with all we can do I fear we will fall short of affording the treatment he needs. This is why I have put my father's story on here with hopes of people’s kind heart generosity will help me to help my dearly father. Thank you all for reading.
