Phoenix Mountain is and always has been a community. It is a community of skiers and snowboarders, families young and old, people eager to get outside, breathe some fresh air and enjoy the sports they love in the company of friendly faces.
Phoenix Mountain is a not-for-profit Society which has been in operation for over 50 years. People from across the Boundary area have access to learn to ski and board through school programs, by coming up with parents or friends and learning in one of the best little ski hills around. Let’s face it, if you can ski and ride Phoenix you can ride almost anywhere. Phoenix Mountain has one T-bar and one rope tow which gives us access to more than 90 acres of skiable terrain and 705 ft of vertical. Growing up on these slope fosters the love of skiing and passion for the outdoors and the hill itself.
This little mountain is powered by the community around it. Phoenix would not be the mountain it is today without the community’s constant support. It has been through ups and downs over the years and always seems comes out on top.
It is with that in mind that this page is created, reaching out to you now, with a great need.
The machine that has been used to groom the mountain the past 15 years is nearing retirement. As you may know, Phoenix’s 2020-21 season was affected when in mid-February the existing snowcat, “Snowman,” was unable to run while having the engine replaced. The cost of the repairs totalled close to $25,000. There will be many of these types of big fixes in the upcoming years as things start to break down after 16,000+ hrs of operation.
“Snowman” will have to be replaced, and that is where you come in. Whether you can donate $5, $50, $500 or $5000; Phoenix needs your help!
