"Region of Heroes" docudrama

Marusya Shuvalova is a young filmmaker, actor, dancer, swimmer, and student who lives with her family in a suburb of Kyiv, Ukraine. Marusya has written, starred in, edited, produced, and co-directed two amazing short docudramas - "What's Going on with Us?" and "Me. My Eleven Years. War." - about her daily life as war is waged around her, her family and friends, and her country. It is a child's perspective of life during wartime - thoughtful, intriguing, honest and hopeful.

The Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival and the San Diego International Children's Film Festival seek to bring Marusya, her mother, and her younger brother to Los Angeles and San Diego for screenings of her films at special screening days for our festivals in early 2024, including interaction with audiences, filmmaker learning events, media appearances, school visits, and some fun SoCal activities. Donations collected will help pay for travel, meals, screening expenses, learning experiences, and activities.

Thank you for supporting this brave and talented young filmmaker!
