Congestive Heart Failure

Donation protected
After a long career in Law Enforcement (25 years), working overseas doing classified work for the U.S. Government, fighting the International war on terrorism; I decided to go back to the health field I enjoyed working in as a military corpsman. I was working as a Mental Health Technician at the Methodist Specialty and Transplant hospital in San Antonio, when on Sept. 21, 2015, I experienced Congestive Heart Failure. My heart extraction rate was between 5% to 10%. I was hospitalized and was told that the heart problem was due to an electrical failure. They thought I would be in a coma, but the Lord saved me from that. After several weeks, I was discharged. Many medical procedures - and bills - later, I tried to return to work. My cardiologist cleared me to work - with restrictions.
The Methodist would not let me do my regular job, and would not even help me find a job doing anything! Human Resources ignored my pleas for any kind of job. I applied many different places - but no one wants an old man with heart disease. Even my old police associates would not hire me so I could use my Peace Officer's license to work extra traffic jobs. I had just purchased a 2015 Jeep Renegade and got an equity loan on my home, because I thought I would be working for many more years. I turned to the Veterans Administration for help with medical treatment. They told me that I made too much money from my police pension ($2,100 per month) to qualify for any medical coverage - even though I served 8 years active duty. Social Security only gives me $244 per month because of the same pension. Although I have insurance through my pension plan, I have out of pocket expenses and co-pays. My divorce decree in 2003 stipulates that my ex-wife gets half of my pension, so that does not leave much for medical, food, housing, etc. I had put monies aside from working overseas, but they are rapidly being depleted. I also support a 39 year old son, who lives with me, and has "needs" of his own. This is an on-going problem. I hate to air this in the public arena. I have never asked for help. I have always tried to give. I am asking now. I want to pay off my debts (around $100,00) and be able to stay in my home, and take care of my son, until my demise
