Reforestation project: Amazonia Brasil

Nós todos vimos a floresta amazônica queimando na tv. Nos sentimos impotentes e como não há nada que possamos fazer. Mas há algo que podemos fazer. A floresta está sendo destruída a uma taxa horrível, e quase nenhum esforço está sendo feito para replantar as áreas queimadas.

Passei 4 anos da minha vida morando na floresta amazônica e através de minhas conexões, estou tomando uma posição e montando uma iniciativa.

Nosso objetivo inicial é plantar 1000 árvores, mas, dependendo da quantidade de doações, podemos crescer e aumentar esse plano. Continue doando!

Agora é a estação seca, então este evento acontecerá em abril, quando as chuvas começarem, e é melhor para o plantio.

Nosso plano é trabalhar em conjunto com as comunidades do rio Jauaperi nos próximos meses, dando às pessoas a oportunidade de criar pequenos viveiros para que os filhotes estejam prontos para o plantio.

Precisamos desse dinheiro para o custo dos materiais e do trabalho para cuidar de cada muda em seus contêineres durante os próximos 6 meses, até que sejam grandes e fortes o suficiente para plantar no solo em abril. O dinheiro também irá para o transporte de todas as 1.000 mudas para o local da queimada.

A área queimada que planejamos replantar é de 25 hectares.
1000 árvores não são suficientes para fazer uma grande diferença ... mas é assim que toda mudança no mundo começa.

Eu gostaria de fazer a diferença neste mundo e inspirar outras pessoas a se envolverem. Muitas pessoas dizem que uma pessoa não pode fazer diferença, mas existem 7 bilhões de pessoas no mundo que podem.

Vamos documentar todo o processo através de fotos e vídeos para mídias sociais, e esperamos inspirar os outros, mostrando que cada pequena ação pode ter um efeito cascata e mudar o mundo. Espero que esse movimento cresça e que a cada ano, durante a estação chuvosa, podemos voltar a plantar milhares de árvores e receber mais ajuda e atenção a cada ano.

Vamos fazer disso um evento anual.

You may not know me, but my name is Jaime, and I LOVE THE AMAZON.

We've all seen the Amazon rainforest burning on tv.  We feel helpless and like there is nothing that we can do.  But there is something that we can do.  The forest is being destroyed at a horrifying rate, and almost no effort is being put into replanting the burned areas.  

I spent 4 years of my life living in the Amazon forest and through my connections there I am taking a stand and putting together an initiative. 

Our starting goal is to plant 1000 trees, but depending on the quantity of donations we can grow and increase this plan.  Keep donating!

Right now is the dry season, so this event will take place in April when the rains start, and it is better for planting.

Our plan is to work together with the communities on the Jauaperi River during the next few months, giving the people there the opportunity to create small nurseries for the baby trees to be ready for planting. 

We need this money for the cost of materials and the work to take care of each seedling in their containers during the next 6 months, until they are big and strong enough to plant into the ground in April.  The money will also go towards transporting all 1,000 seedlings to the burn site.

The burn area that we plan to replant is 25 hectares. 
1000 trees is not nearly enough to make a big difference...  but this is how every change in the world starts.  

I would like to make a difference in this world, and to inspire other people to get involved.  So many people say that one person cannot make a difference, but there are 7 billion of us in the world that can.

We are going to document the entire process through pictures and video for social media, and hopefully inspire others by showing that every small action can have a ripple effect and change the world.  I hope that this movement will grow, and that each year during the rainy season we can go back and plant thousands more trees and get more help and attention each year. 

Let's make this an annual event.
let's make this the new normal.
let's act while we still can.
