<div>Life has been hard on many of us the past few years in a way that is difficult to sum up in words. While many of us struggled in our own ways, as a composer, music played a pinnacle role in processing through the challenges I faced while battling cancer. While the music of Journey to Rebirth captures the raw emotions felt through my own personal journey through cancer, it offers the opportunity to share a story to which many of us can relate. A story of love, beauty, strength, and growth in the face of adversity.

<div><strong>MY STORY</strong>
</div>
<div>I am Layla, a cancer survivor and warrior who found solace and healing through music during my journey with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Music became my refuge, offering an outlet to process the intense emotions that accompany facing unimaginable circumstances, a shared experience for many people and their loved ones.

<div>Amidst the isolation of my cancer journey, the piano became my sanctuary. Composing music acted as my medicine- allowing me to tune into my body and bring to the surface deep layers of my unconscious. Through improvisation, it opened my heart, revealing my blindspots and shining a light to areas in my life that was asking for my loving attention. The music held me as I walked a path through my greatest fears, offering courage through deep listening, and cultivating faith and trust in the process as I found myself reconnecting to the essence of who I am beyond the confines of my story.
