Christine was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer March 2014.  Christine worked the first year, as a special educator, while being treated.  She didn't want to leave teaching, it broke her heart, but her sick days ran out and the chemo regimen was taking its toll on her physically. Christine had to leave her position.  Her students were sad to see her leave her position.  Several wanted to start different fundraisers and meal deliveries to help her out.  One of her students Andrevias, pictured above and another student Channer still have a deep concern for her and want to help their former teacher.  She needs help as soon as possible.  She needs to start her new treatment now, but she needs help with medical bills, co-pays, traveling, food while traveling and hotel arrangements while traveling from SC to John Hopkins for a new treatment (a clinical trial).  Christine has been going through chemo for almost 4 years.  The chemo isn't successful at controlling the cancer anymore so she is starting a new clinical trial.  She needs to start her new treatment now.  Her survival depends on it.  Doctors have told her if she does nothing, she only has approximately a year to live. Her husband of 21 years, Dave, takes time off to drive Christine to and from treatments and to be a constant support for Christine. She lives for her family, that now includes her infant granddaughter Charlie. Christine's family has rallied around her to help her fight. She wants to watch Charlie grow up and continue sharing her life with her husband who has given himself to support her.
