A Home for Eddy

Imagine if every morning when you rolled out of bed, your biggest hope was that you could find enough work to just be able to feed your family... to just put some food on the table that evening. Imagine that on the days your hope became reality the work you found was construction work, hard physical labor. Mixing concrete by hand, with a shovel... digging footings for buildings by hand, with that same shovel while you are barefooted because you don't want to ruin the only pair of shoes you have. Imagine that on these days you found work, it paid $6, $7 or maybe $8 for a 10 hour workday. Imagine that when you did find work, you weren't negative in spirit because of the low pay, but instead you were joyful that you had a few dollars to be able to buy a little bit of food for your family. Now imagine that food is even more expensive than it is in the US & you have to feed your entire family on that $8. Eddy doesn't have to imagine this scenario. For Eddy, this is his reality... every single day. For Eddy, his reality is also that food for his wife & baby is a big need - one that he works to meet every day. But for Eddy, there is no money left for any semblance of a home. Home is canvas stretched between, over & around some scrap wood. Home is some scrap tin laid on top of some block he has salvaged. Together, we can change that for Eddy & his family. I understand that you can't help everyone, but you can sure help this one. Please give to help provide a home for Eddy & his family.  In the spirit of full disclosure, my relationship to Eddy is that he is my friend... I would hope that someone would do the same for me if I needed help.  As Eddy lives in Haiti & cannot travel outside of the country, I will be withdrawing the funds in my name & hand delivering them to Eddy in Haiti.
