I went from needing just 2 liters of oxygen to now relying on 5 liters daily—and my doctors tell me I will eventually need a lung transplant.

<div>On top of my lung condition, the steroids I was prescribed caused Cushing’s disease and affected my vision. I now need special glasses (about $700) and a stronger portable oxygen pack that can handle 7 liters (about $3,500). My doctors also put me on weight loss medication to counter the effects of the steroids.
