<div>We are Carlos Piguave and Karla Chicaiza, the proud parents of Liam Joaquín, a sweet little angel who is just one year and seven months old. A few days ago, our son was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a rare and degenerative genetic disease that gradually steals his ability to walk and play, slowly weakening his muscles and reducing his mobility day by day.

This hope comes in the form of a medication called ELEVIDYS—one of the most expensive medicines in the world. <div>Somos Carlos Piguave y Karla Chicaiza, los orgullosos padres de Liam Joaquín , un pequeño angelito de un año y siete meses de edad a quien hace algunos días le diagnosticaron Distrofia Muscular de Duchenne que es una enfermedad genética rara y degenerativa que poco a poco le roba la fuerza para caminar y jugar, ya que día a día deteriora los músculos y disminuyendo poco a poco la movilidad de Joaquín.

<div>Pero no todo está perdido. Existe una esperanza real y tangible que podría cambiarlo todo para Joaquín, esta esperanza es un medicamento llamado: ELEVIDYS una de las medicinas más caras del mundo pero del cual una sola dosis, podría detener la enfermedad y darle la oportunidad de vivir una vida plena. Cada día que pasa es una carrera contra el tiempo. La Distrofia Muscular de Duchenne no espera, avanza sin piedad, debilitando cada músculo del cuerpo de nuestro pequeño bebe.
