What started off as a simple procedure w/ a two day recovery period, turned into 2 major surgeries and a month (so far) in the ICU.
My cousin, Inisha Bruney, went to the hospital to give birth to her daughter over a month ago. Two days after what was supposed to be a simple: "C-Section, take baby home, relax" process, she started to complain of sharp pains on the side of her abdomen. Soon after, it was determined that she now had a hole in her colon and that everything she consumed in those two days now laid (outside the stomach) but in her abdomen threatening to poison her blood. Surgeries were then done to clean and remove the waste as well as to "fix" the hole.
Medical mysteries happen every day, but they are always more interesting to watch than experience. With the expensive rate at which they offer her the ICU room nightly (200xcd), and the surgery fees also making their way to the forefront, we have no choice but to turn to the public for help. Even in the midst of recovery, complications are expected and those complications come at a higher cost to her family whether or not it is any fault of ours.
