Michael is my two year old nephew. He is the most happy, smiley little guy you would ever meet. Now he is fighting for his life.
Michael was admitted last Saturday (June 20th) to Children's Hospital of Omaha PICU. On Sunday he went into a momentary cardiac arrest and resuscitated himself without help. His oxygen saturation lowered throughout the day Sunday. His lungs had looked better Sunday morning and then again worse in the evening. They identified the bacteria that is infecting his body, heart, and lungs as streptococcus. He is septic and it is effecting his organs. Monday morning his heart rate was 190 and his oxygen was still not getting better. His BP plummetted and they made an emergency decision to put him on an ECMO (heart and lung bypass machine) to prevent another cardiac arrest. His lungs aren't getting anything from the ventilator anymore. All his oxygen is coming for the ECMO.
With that being said, we are trying to help raise money for Becca and Devan. For any expenses they need (such as medical bills, gas, food, etc.). Even if you cant help, please share and pray for Michael.
