Pierre's Medical Bills

On October 23rd our rescue dog Pierre's live was changed, and so was ours. Alex came home early from work to find Pierre paralyzed in our laundry room. His gums were white and he was shaking. We immediately took him to the ER and they said he needed to go into surgery right away.

Pierre, our young 5 year old French bulldog, had ruptured two discs in his back which was putting pressure on his spine- from the point of injury and behind, he was paralyzed. The vets sent us home while he was in survey. When we arrived home we found throw up and pee on our couch. The vets believe that Pierre had jumped on the couch, hurt his back and the paralysis kicked in, he got scared and threw up and peed. They found an ulcer in his left eye which led them to believe he tried jumping off the couch but face planted (causing the ulcer) and then dragged himself to the laundry room- where Alex found him on the sheets. He stayed in the ICU for 3 days and was finally able to come home on Wednesday night.

Recovery could be up to 6 months- because he has to relearn how to walk- but they do think he will make a full recovery! Pierre has been our everything since we rescued him from Deaf Dogs of Colorado at 9 weeks old! Although we knew the surgery would be hard work to pay off, we couldn't let her little man suffer. We had to fight for him.
