Community Health in Ghana

I am a senior nursing student at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. I have recently been blessed with the opportunity to travel to Bolgatanga, Ghana and live among the villagers!
I will be fulfilling a lifelong dream of caring for underserved areas abroad. I will be a part of a student medical team providing free health care services to the villagers in Bolgatana. We will be partnering with local clinics as we address the village’s specific health needs such as malaria prevention and hydration.

While here, I will be conducting research on fall prevention and medication administration within the local clinics. The data gathered here will contribute to research I am conducting in the United States to be published in a medical journal.

I am thrilled to explore Ghana, learn about the people here, and give the gift of health to the people I will be living among.
