Love Donation

It is with great sadness and disbelief  that we share the passing of our father, Neng Vang.  He passed away at the age of 73 at Fresno Community Hospital after suffering a brain aneurism.

Our father leaves behind our step-mom, 26 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and 7 of us siblings behind. He was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and family via zoom.

Our father was a disciplined man due to his military training and experiences at such a young age of 16. He was one of the few young Hmong men selected in the first round that would participate in the United States CIA Covert program during the Secret War in Laos.   As the war continued, our father served in many facets and was promoted to the rank of Major in 1973, and thus from there on was widely known as Major Neng Vang. When the war ended, our father knew the only way to protect the family was to escape to Thailand despite all the challenges along the way. Our family eventually immigrated to the United States in April of1980.

Our father was tough and surely gave tough love.  His sternness pushed us to better ourselves, to be independent, and to stand up for what is right and wrong. His tough love helped us experience natural consequences and we will be forever grateful to him for raising and teaching us to be accountable for our actions and words.  His wise words were indeed “worth more than silver and gold”.
 
We will be honoring our father on January 4th, 2021 at 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2435 North Thesta Street, Fresno, CA. Committal Service will be held on January 4th , 2021 at 1:00 pm at Clovis Cemetery, 305 North Villa Avenue, Clovis, California.

We realize our country is in the midst of a pandemic and understand if you cannot join us in honoring our father.  We thank you in advance for your support, encouragements, thoughts and prayers as we grieve the loss of our father.  If you feel inclined to give a monetary donation, please know that we will forever be grateful for your kindness.
