On 11/22/20 Sunday morning a fire started in the bathroom from the exhaust fan. The smoke alarms never went off on that side of the house. They found the house was filled with smoke and the only bathroom that is in the house was on fire. Luckily, Layne , Sarah and the dogs were not injured. But the fire department had to turn off all the electricity and water going to the home. They were told that they were very lucky that the water pipes in the ceiling were leaking otherwise the entire house would have gone up in flames. The home is now uninhabitable and the property management company is not really doing anything to rectify the situation. They are currently living in a hotel, but the rental insurance for food and lodging is very minimal. The homeowners insurance agent has not even scheduled yet to come out to assess the damages. All of their belongings smell of smoke. They are currently looking for a new rental, but they have used up all funds for lodging and food since the fire. They are needing help with funds to be able to keep a roof over their head and as well as moving expenses so they can get into a new place. They both have full time jobs and go to school full time. But they just don't make enough to be able to start over from scratch. Any little bit will help them to get back on their feet and out of a hotel and in a home for Christmas.
