On November 17th my mom was admitted into the hospital for stomach pains. That night we found out she had a mass in her pelvic area. The next week we found out she had cancer. She later was then diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. She is going to have to get radiation and chemo for a few months and than get another pet scan to see if it helped. For those of you who do not know my mother, she is a single mom with two teenagers. She works so hard to provide for us but unfortunately she has been out of work and will be out of work for a few months. With all the hospital expenses and her being out of work due to being in the hospital for the last three weeks, our family is coming up short with money. As much as my brother and I try and help with money from our jobs it’s just not enough to cover our bills. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
As of January 9, my mom has been doing radiation for about 3 weeks everyday and is doing chemo every thursday. She has so far been to two chemo appointments and you can already see the effect it has on her. My mom is not as energetic as she used to be and she is always tired. It has been so hard on my brother and I, and my extended family. She is still out of work, and is recieving no disability as of right now. We have been getting some medical bills and we unfortuntely have no money to pay for them.
On February 2nd, my mom was admitted back into the emergency room for the fourth time in the last three months. Due to the cancer she has, it has been causing her to get blood clots in her left leg. Since she was admitted she has had three procedures done on her leg and the blood clots have not gone away. At 11pm last night my brother and I found out that she has to be transferred to penn hospital in Philadelphia. The hospital that she is at currently can not do anymore for her and she needs to go to a better hospital. For those who know my mom, she is a single mother raising two teenagers. It has been extremely hard on my brother and I. And it is going to be even harder not being able to see her everyday due to the fact that penn hospital is in a different state. Money has been extremely tight.
