Diego's Medical Fund

Hello my name is Araceli Valtierra.  I am a second grade teacher in Somerton Arizona.  I love my students and it is hard for me to see any of them suffer.  I have a wonderful, dedicated and outgoing seven year old student.  His name is Diego Vargas Avalos.  Diego is a smart boy who loves to learn new things.   When Diego was three years old he was diagnosed with HSP (Henoch–Schonlein purpura) a disease of the skin, mucous membranes, and sometimes other organs that most commonly affects children. Unfortunately this disease has affected Diego's other organs.  Diego has kidney problems, stomach pain and constant constipation.  He suffers stomach aches constantly.  As a teacher and being a mother as well it is very heartbreaking to see him suffer on a daily basis.  Diego has asked his mother for one wish. "That one day he will feel better, not have pain and be normal like other students."

Diego needs a biospsy and other tests done as soon as possible since there is a chance that his intestines my burst.  Depending on the results he might need surgery.  His family, being a low income family need your help!  They have insurance but his insurance will not pay for some of the tests, anesthesia and other medical expenses.  He had an appointment scheduled on October 19, 2017, in Phoenix, however it had to be cancelled because they didn't have the necessary funds to pay for the tests. Unfortunately they will not do the tests until all the money is raised.  We are trying to raise money to pay for the medical expenses.

Living in Yuma county I have seen many wonderful and caring people help others.  Today I ask for your help!  Please help us reach our goal so Diego can start recuperating soon! Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!
