My name is Mary and I am raising funds to be able to finish my bachelors degree in Business. My dream is to have a degree by the time I am 60 which is a year and a half away. I have been a part time student on line for over 6 years. It has taken me this long because I only take one class at a time because I work a full time job. I decided to get a degree because I had been working 2 or 3 jobs to make a living for me and my children and I finally decided that the only way to make a living was with a degree. I only have 3 classes left and I have run out of federal student aide and have exhausted my loan options. I have been trying to pay out of pocket but that has put me at risk of losing my home and getting behind in my bills. I would never have had the chance to go to college without federal student aide. I am afraid that if I have to put this off, I will have to get another job and I may never finish. I had been told my whole life that I would never amount to anything and this is my way of telling all the naysayers that they are wrong. I have a 3.6 grade point average and have been at the top of my class for the entire 6 years. Even when I work long hours I still get my homework done because it is important to me. My story has inspired 2 co-workers to go back to finish their degrees. I am also mentoring a young boy who has had a rough life and lives with his grandmother who is on a fixed income. I want him to know how important getting an education is. I have fought back from 2 failed marriages which were both followed by 2 bankruptcy's. I am not a quitter and I have worked hard to get where I am now. I came from a poor family with 5 children where there was no hope of getting a college education. I have worked for as long as I can remember to include ironing and sewing for neighbors to make money when I was 9. I also cleaned houses, babysat, cleaned garages and had a lawn business with my brother when I was 10. When you are poor, you do what you have to do to take care of your family. I will finish this degree anyway I can and maybe finally, I will get a career instead of just a job. I will need at least $920 to continue by the end of October 2020. The 3 classes that are left are $920 each. No other expenses. The total is $2760 to finish. I would be eternally grateful for any help I can get. I feel bad having to ask for help but this is my last hope. Thank you to all who may be able to help. I did not mention the college that I am attending because I am not sure that is legal.
