Aziza - Barakat Bailey Coulibaly was born 12 weeks early on July 31st, weighing little more than an eggplant. Strong, resilient, and fierce as her mama Alexis (AJ), she continues to beat the odds and today is a healthy 3lb baby girl. She will remain in the NICU until her original due date or if she meets her benchmarks ahead of schedule. Her name means "bold, courageous blessing" and she definitely lives up to it.

Having a baby in the NICU is one of the hardest trials a new mother can face, and although Alexis has been putting on her winning smile and "can do" attitude through all of this, the burden remains great. Insurance and disability pay do not even begin to cover the long term costs of nurturing and caring for a prematurely born baby. We hope that by creating this campaign, all of those who know and love AJ will rally to support her in this most difficult of times. Every little bit helps and will show her how much her village is there for her.
