Face Shields for key workers

By now you will have probably heard on the news or read on social media that there is a huge shortage of PPE for our key workers in the UK.

One such piece of PPE is a face shield, basically a plastic head band to which a clear plastic film is attached.
Simple but provides some protection for the key worker.

Since government guidelines for social distancing has prevented me from carrying out my usual business I have decided to use my 3d printer to print and donate face shields free of charge to local key workers.

Assuming a small number of local key workers would take me up on the offer of FREE face shields I set about making and delivering them.

Now by word of mouth and social media requests for shields has grown beyond my personal financial ability to keep up. So I am asking for donations to help with the cost of materials.

Each face shield head band consumes about 6M of plastic and an acetate sheet. As a result of the worldwide coronavirus, supply of this material has increased in price and availability is reducing, which could lead to an even greater material cost. 

At this time the estimated cost of material to produce 1 shield is £1.00.
