Xena’s Bilateral Ear Ablation Surgery Costs

I am mommy to Xena, my 3 1/2 year old beautiful pit bull rescue who desperately needs to have a surgical procedure to correct an issue. When we formally adopted her, we were told that she suffered from allergies. Allergies to grass, as well as to human dander. Xena had apparently had her ears cropped too short, which led to her developing Rods and cauliflower ear. We took her to the veterinarian and had her put on antibiotics and prednisone, which did very little for her issues and brought her to the Emergency vet in Palm Beach Gardens this morning for them to evaluate her, in which they explained to us that they had not seen anything so severe as this in their 30 years as a veterinarian. Of course, we are beside ourselves and want to do whatever we can to make her as comfortable as we can but the only option we have been given is to have a complete ear ablation surgery to remove both of her ear canals. This will most likely leave Xena completely deaf in both ears as well as a possibility of her having eye issues that will require drops for the remainder of her life. I just want so desperately to make Xena’s quality of life so much better than her current state and for me, there is no other alternative but to do this surgery because the problem will not go away with any amount of medications and it is so completely unfair for her to live a life with pain and being as uncomfortable as she is, in her current state. We were given a quote for surgery for her ears and the most affordable way to proceed would be to do both ears at the same time because it would only require one time for her to be put under anesthesia. To have one ear done would cost a little over $3000 but to have both done at the same time would roughly be $4600. Any help at this time would be greatly appreciated! Thank you and God Bless!!
