Megan's Medical Fund

Megan West is a tenacious, hard working, and incredibly strong woman with a heart as big as her smile.  Over the past several years, Megan has been working tremendously hard to become a board certified Physician Assistant. Unfortunately during the week of her graduation from Physician Assistant school, Megan was diagnosed with breast cancer.  In addition to the stress and pressure she faces studying for her national board certification exam and getting ready for her first job as a PA, Megan now has to battle through cancer.Megan is no stranger to battling through life's trials and tribulations. In fact, this is not her first fight with cancer. When she was 20 years old, Megan was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She underwent RCHOP chemotherapy for 8 months of treatment and was in remission for 12 years before her new diagnosis. Additionally, Megan lost her step mother to cancer when she was 27 years old, whom she shared an extremely close bond with. Through the incredible hardships Megan was dealt at a young age, her true character shined through. It was both her and her step mother's battles with cancer that led her to discover her true passion of caring for the sick. Since this realization, Megan has devoted her life to her pursuit of a career in healthcare.

After her years of hard work and dedication , she graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Technology's Physician Assistant program, Cum Laude. Her first job as a practicing PA will be in General Surgery at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport, PA, where she is originally from

When she is not training to become the real life super hero she was born to be, Megan enjoys spending time with her family, friends, her long time boyfriend Jason, and her two beloved dogs, Vinny and Doc Holliday. She also is an avid gardener and loves to cook delicious home cooked meals as well.

Megan's treatment will consist of surgery, chemotherapy after surgery, with potentially radiation after surgery and chemo before surgery as well. Please help us reach and exceed our fundraising goal for this incredibly gifted and strong woman. Her medical expenses for her previous cancer were just shy of our current fundraising goal, and this will no doubt be a much more in depth treatment plan.  We need as much help as possible, and any amount donated will help. Megan deserves as much kindness, love, and support as possible.
