Need help for funeral costs

My husband, John, has been suffering with liver disease for quite some time, as well as a heart condition, and was on the list to get a liver transplant. He'd been laid off years earlier from a job he'd worked for many years. His ill health kept him from returning to full time work. He tried to work part time but most of his days were taken up by doctors' appointments, painful sessions of paracentesis to remove the toxins that were building up in his body. Our life savings were depleted.

Sadly, John died quite suddenly this morning. Now, not only am I left with the deep pain of losing the man I have loved for the past 24 years, I have been slapped with the reality that I have no income, no insurance policy, no 401k, no savings, no money. I'm not sure how - of IF - I'm going to afford to pay for the funeral.

I am a proud woman and do not like asking for help, but I have no choice; I have a funeral to pay for, a mortgage to pay, and a granddaughter to continue raising all on my own now.

I do not know what I am going to do, as I am certainly not employable at my age and I have no source of money. So I am reaching out and asking for those who can, to help me, out of the goodness of their hearts.
