I feel strongly that the people of the North East who favour remaining in the European Union need both a voice and representation in the European Parliament.
On the one had it is deeply concerning that users of entirely negative and isolationist rhetoric can put together a new party and field candidates with such ease, whilst on the other those members of the electorate who so desperately do not want their futures to be risked are finding so little open and vocal support amongst the mainstream parties. In addition to this there are those young people whose futures are being taken from them in the form of loss of freedom of movement, loss of European regional development funding for new businesses, etc.
If elected I will to the best of my ability represent the remain cause, the people of the North East and the UK as a whole. I will use everything in my power to persuade those who voted to leave of the benefits of remaining and I will work to shape future EU policy for the benefit of all UK citizens.
Consequently, I am seeking these funds in order to pay the £5,000 deposit required to stand as a candidate. In order for the candidacy to be recognised the money must be paid by 4pm on 25th April 2019.
Provided I poll more than 2.5% of the overall vote share I will be able to return the funds to each donor.
