Hello, my name is John Conroy. I have been friends with Maryann for years. She is a remarkable retired nurse. She has come upon some very difficult times! There is so much I do not know where to begin. She is disabled. She is independent in her apartment. She had MassHealth. She had a companion to live with and help her. This person was absolutely horrible! She ruined Maryann’s car, which needs to be repaired. She robbed from her. Maryann lost MassHealth due to the caregiver. She ruined Maryann’s relationship with her landlady. Maryann was hospitalized due to an emergency and was there for about a month. The landlady evicted her. She needs an operation to get her teeth fixed in order to have 2 operations so she may be able to walk again! She gets SSI, but is just over the amount for her to get any help. It is a desperate situation. She is now looking for an apartment. I don’t know how she is able to do all this!!! She called GLAD to see if they could help her! They did not!!! They gave her other numbers to call. There is a government woman who is trying to help. A disabled woman should NOT be evicted. She is waiting to hear back! My heart breaks for her! I wish I could be closer. She can’t walk down the stairs to do laundry! She lost that person. She can’t bring her garbage out. Her neighbors used to help but now refuse to help!!! She can’t get out to get food as the car is not working!!!! A truly horrible situation!
