Since its start in 2018, The Virago Project has raised over $1,000 for children and family shelters in Baltimore, Maryland and beyond. As our community faces unprecedented changes due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, we--the student leaders of the Virago Project--are ready to step up and help in whatever ways we can.
We are currently raising money to contribute to the fall/winter wish list of the Youth Empowered Society (YES) Drop-In Center, a safe space for youth who are homeless and between the ages of 14-25. YES works to meet basic needs, establish supportive relationships with peer staff and allies, and develop the leadership and employment readiness of youth who have experienced homelessness. During the ongoing pandemic, the need for assistance has, without a doubt, significantly increased. With your generous donations, we hope to raise over $500 in order to donate care packages that include toiletries, clothing, and other supplies that are in high demand for homeless youth in Baltimore. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
