We are Team Mo and were formed to provide assistance to Monica Rath (Mo) and are trying to raise funds for this very special person.
Monica's background

Have you ever found yourself in a moment of crisis and needed help. When you dial 911 you hope and pray that a caring and compassionate hero will respond to help you. Monica Rath is such a hero. She is a 20 year veteran of the Southgate Volunteer Fire Department. She is a certified Firefighter, Apparatus Operator and Emergency Medical Technician. She is part of a firefighting family which originated with her father Wayne Watson who is a 40 year member of the Southgate Fire Department. Her Husband Steve is a paid Ft. Thomas firefighter and a volunteer in Southgate. Two of her siblings are in the fire service along with a step-son, 3 nephews and a niece. Her daughter and three other relatives are members of the Southgate Fire Department Auxiliary. Monica is also the Secretary of the Kentucky Firefighters Association; where she serves as the first and only female member on the Executive Board.

Monica's Condition
In September of 2012, Monica was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma, a non-aggressive cancer. She underwent six months of low grade chemotherapy and the lymphoma was thought to be in remission. In February of 2014, Monica began experiencing pain and a P.E.T. scan revealed that her cancer had returned and had mutated to Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) a very dangerous and aggressive cancer. High doses of Chemo were administered for three months with no success. It was determined that she needed a Stem Cell Transplant. Fortunately, her big sister, Malissa, was a perfect match and on January 5, 2016 the stem cell transplant was performed. Today Monica is in the process of a long and extensive recovery. After spending over 30 days in the hospital, she will face another two to 3 months of recovery at home. Her medical bills are excessive and continue to grow.

The funds generated here will be used to defray expenses until Monica is fully recovered.

Mo on one of her good days.

Here is Mo taking a walk with her friend Lilly, which is not quite the same type of pumper she is used to being around.

We really appreciate your prayers and any funds you can spare.
Thanks
