Help Save Darby Dog

By now most people who know Darby know of her story. She came into our lives during the Tropical Storm Darby which arrived here in Hawaii the day after our wedding reception, which took place at a campground. We started packing up our camping gear in the pouring rain and sure enough there she was huddled under our truck shivering and emaciated. Calling for help we were told due to roads being washed out the Humane Society could not come get her.... so... home with us she went. After the storm cleared a few days later we took her to the vet to see if she was microchipped. She was not, they estimated she was about 2 years old and had no medical necessities done. After talking to the Humane Society they said they were full and the ASPCA said the same thing but we could foster her. She tried so hard to learn the rules and to fit in with our two existing dogs. Push come to shove we fostered her for a year before she finally found her forever home. This pup who gives love unconditionally finally found someone that could return the love. She has been with Tori a month now and has been thriving. All the treats, toys, and cuddles she could possibly want. And tge best part, She had Tori all to herself!
Yesterday, however, I found out Darby Dog was in extensive surgery. Construction workers had left the gate to her new yard open and Darby was playing in the yard with Tori who had not noticed the gate. Darby, who loves to run found the opening and ran out into the street as Tori called her back she got hit by a car going 40mph. The car showing no remorse kept going leaving Tori horrified at the sight of Darby. She scooped her up and rushed her to the Vet ER. Good news... she is alive...However, it turns out she had both sides of her pelvis detached and needs a plate and some screws on both sides to hold it together again. She has a fracture on the cup of her pelvic bone. Her left leg has all the tissue under her skin served due to impact so her skin isnt actually attached to her leg at all. Multiple contusions and brusing of her lungs and the rest of her body. Along with road rash and stiches everywhere. She has to stay at the vet for several days to be monitored and then once she is home she has to stay in a box for 8 weeks. As of this moment the vet bill is already around $7000.00. Tori is not the type of person to ask for help, so I want to ask for her. After all 7k is a lot of money! Tori didn't even hesitate with deciding that saving Darbys life was worth it. To add to this story Tori was about to go on a 20 day vacation which she has since canceled to be with Darby. She is already thinking about reenlisting in the Navy just to be able to pay the Vet bill. So, if anyone can help Tori and poor Darby Dog please don't hesitate...any little bit helps.
